Meeting Description:

The Linguistic Society of Nepal (LSN) announces its 33rd Annual Conference to be held on November 26-27, 2012 in Kathmandu. The conference is one of the major activities of the Society which aims to provide a platform for those who have been working on different aspects of languages from home and abroad. 

Call for Papers:

Papers are invited on theoretical, descriptive, interdisciplinary, or applied aspects of language studies. Some major areas are specified below:

Phonetics
Phonology
Morphology
Syntax
Historical Linguistics
Sociolinguistics
Semantics and lexical studies
Mother-tongue and multilingual education
Indigenous languages
Corpus and computational linguistics
Natural language processing
Typological studies
Applied linguistics
Language teaching
Language policy and planning
Discourse analysis
Language and technology

The Conference will organise talks/papers and workshops. Exhibitions of Linguistic materials and books will also be organised. Please submit presenter's proposal by or before 31 August 2012 to Kamal Poudel at: kamalpoudel at gmail.com.

The abstracts will be peer reviewed and presenters will be notified the result by 15 September 2012.

Please submit an electronic copy of abstract. The abstract should be in the English language should be in Times New Roman or equivalent font. IPA Unicode should be used for the data of the languages other than English. The other Unicode can be used only if it is necessary for the script of the given language in the MS Word format and its PDF file.

Author's bio-statement: Please write your brief bio-statement in 50-60 words in third person. For example, Mr./Mrs. Stone is...has worked..S/he was...

Please give a detailed explanation of your presentation in 200-300 words.
