English Language and Literature Studies: Embracing Edges (ELLSEE)
7-9 December 2012
Faculty of Philology, Belgrade

The English Department at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, is pleased to announce the fourth international conference on English language and literature studies. The aim of the ELLSEE conference is to promote exchange of ideas across different areas and theoretical frameworks of English linguistics and anglophone literary/cultural studies throughout a broad academic community.

The list of plenary speakers will include:

Vesna Goldsworthy (Professor in English Literature and Creative Writing, Kingston University, UK)
David Norris (Professor in Russian and Slavonic Studies, University of Nottingham, UK)
Greville Corbett (Professor in Linguistics, University of Surrey, UK)
Sergio Scalise (Professor in Linguistics, University of Bologne, Italy)

Conference Fee:

The conference fee is 80 Euros. The fee includes:

Conference pack
Coffee break refreshments
Welcome party

Accommodation:

Hotel reservations can be made by the organizers upon request.

2nd Call for Papers:

We welcome proposals for papers addressing diverse issues within the general theme of the conference - 'Embracing Edges' - in the following fields:

Theoretical Linguistics
Applied Linguistics
Literary Studies
Cultural Studies

The official language of the conference is English.

Each paper will be allotted 30 minutes (20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion).

A selection of papers will be published after the conference.

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words and should be sent via email (as Word 1997-2003 attachments) to: 

ellsee.belgrade at gmail.com 

Abstracts should be fully anonymous (title of the paper + abstract + references).

The following information should be specified in the body of the email:

(1) Title of the paper
(2) Name of the author(s)
(3) Affiliation of the author(s)
(4) Key words
(5) Email address

Important Dates:

Submission of abstracts: 15 August 2012			
Notification of acceptance: 15 September 2012
