Meeting Description:

We are pleased to announce that the 6th International Conference on Yi-Burmese Languages and Linguistics will be held on the campus of the Southwest University for Nationalities (SUN) in Chengdu, China, November 2-4, 2012. Also, the celebration of The Opening Ceremony of the Center for Studies on Yi-Burmese Languages will be given at the beginning of the conference.

The conference will be hosted by College of Yi Studies of SUN, in collaboration with the Minzu Yuwen Editorial Board of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Center for Chinese Linguistics of Perking University.

Lodging and Meals:

We will reserve rooms at a reduced price at several hotels near campus. Detailed information about the hotels will be available soon; please visit our conference website for updated hotel information http://222.210.17.171/yxxy/E_Type.asp?E_typeid=42. Note: All conference participants will be responsible for their own hotel and transportation fees. However, we will provide free meals during the period of the conference, including a welcome-banquet on November 2. 

Call for Papers:

Papers relevant to any aspect of the Yi-Burmese languages are welcomed. The deadline for abstracts will be July 10, 2012.

Abstracts must be both in Chinese and English in separate pages. Abstracts should be written in a 12 point font and must be limited to one page for each of the languages. Please include your institute and email at the top of the abstract. Abstracts should be sent as email attachments to sixth_icybll at yahoo.com. PDF format is preferred, but Microsoft Word is also acceptable if PDF is not available to you. Abstracts may also be sent by regular mail to
