In der linguistischen Forschung wird die Informationsstruktur, äußerungs- sowie textbezogen, schon länger intensiv untersucht. Insbesondere wurden dabei die intuitiven Größen 'bekannte und neue Information' sowie 'wichtige und weniger wichtige Information' genauer erfasst (Topik vs. Kommentar, Fokus vs. Hintergrund) und die sprachlichen Mittel zu deren Kennzeichnung für viele typologisch verschiedenen Sprachen beschrieben (vgl. die Übersicht in Krifka 2007). Auf der Ebene des Texts als Ganzes haben fragebasierte Textbeschreibungsmodelle wie das Quaestio-Modell (Klein/ von Stutterheim 1987) oder das QUD-Modell (Roberts 1996/2012) eine verdiente Verbreitung gefunden. Informationsstrukturelle Aspekte sind aber auch für verschiedene Lernbereiche der Schule - vor allem der Sekundarstufe - relevant; z.B. für das Lesen/Verstehen von (literarischen wie funktionalen) Texten sowie für das Schreiben von kohäsiven und treffsicher formulierten Texten. In den Bildungsstandards Deutsch für den mittleren Schulabschluss (2003) wird u.a. gefordert, dass Schülerinnen und Schüler lernen, ihre Texte 'strukturiert, verständlich, sprachlich variabel und stilistisch stimmig' sprachlich zu gestalten. Sie sollten die vielfältigen sprachlichen Mittel zur adressatengerechten Gliederung und Ordnung der Informationen in einer Äußerung und in einem Text kennen und gebrauchen lernen. 

In der fachdidaktischen oder der schulbezogenen sprachwissenschaftlichen Forschung hat es in der letzten Zeit Untersuchungen zu informationsstrukturellen Aspekten gegeben, insbesondere Beiträge zur 'kommunikativen Gewichtung' (z.B. Hoffmann 1995, 2002), zur Stellung von Satzgliedern in Sätzen und Texten (z.B. Baurmann/Menzel, 1995) oder zur thematischen Gliederung von Texten (z.B. Nussbaumer, Guber).

In the past years substantial insights have been made into the information structure both at the utterance and at the text level. A first insight in the matter proposes the review of the current research on topic and focus and their realizations in typologically different languages in Krifka (2007). At the level of the text especially question-based information models like Quaestio-Model (Klein/ von Stutterheim 1987) and the QUD-Model (Roberts 1996/2012) have got a well-deserved attention. Many aspects of the information structure are crucially important also for different (especially secondary) school learning areas, e.g. for reading and understanding of literary and everyday texts and for composing coherent and cohesive, well-formulated texts. In the 'Standards of Education for German for secondary school' the ability of the pupils to use the rich variety of linguistic means for the proper addressee-oriented ordering of the information in a text is explicitly formulated as one of the most important goals of the teaching of German (as mother tongue) at secondary schools.

Recently, there have been some didactically oriented research on certain aspects of information structure, e.g. contributions on 'communicative weight' (e.g. Hoffmann 1995, 2002), on the information-structure-based word order in sentences and texts (e.g. Baurmann/Menzel, 1995) and to thematic arrangement of texts (z.B. Nussbaumer, Guber). 

Call for Papers:

Viele Fragen der vermittlungsbezogenen Umsetzung informationsstruktureller Aspekte sind noch offen. Einige von denen hoffen wir in der Arbeitsgruppe zu beantworten. Für die Arbeitsgruppe sind wir an Beiträgen interessiert, die eine Brücke schlagen zwischen der linguistischen Informationsstrukturforschung und der schulbezogenen Deutschdidaktik, die 

- konkrete Vorschläge zur Fundierung und Unterfütterung des Deutschunterrichts mit neueren sprachwissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen zur Informationsstrukturierung machen,
- die Rolle informationsstruktureller Fragen in verschiedenen schulischen Lernbereichen präzisieren,
- sich kontrastiv mit der sprachlichen Realisierung der informationsstrukturellen Größen in anderen Sprachen, insbesondere in den häufigen Migrantensprachen in Deutschland, befassen und Wege zur Nutzung diesbezüglichen Sprachvergleichs für den Deutschunterricht aufzeigen

Many questions of the didactic implementation of the information structure research are still unresolved. The aim of our workshop is to resolve at least some of them. We welcome submissions that connect linguistic research on information structure with the school teaching praxis, in particular dealing with, but not limited to: 

- Realisable proposals for Fundierung und Unterfütterung of (German) mother tongue teaching with new insights from the information structure research, including influential models like QUD
- Specification of the role of information-structural issues in different areas of secondary school teaching
- Contrastive investigations of the linguistic realisations of information-structural units in different languages, with an emphasis on the frequent migrant languages in Germany, showing options of using a language comparison for the German (mother tongue) teaching

The slots for talks are 30 (20 + 10) resp. 60 (45 + 15) minutes. Please mail us an abstract of your talk as a pdf file till 15 August 2012 to: maria.averintseva at uni-tuebingen.de. The abstracts are limited to 2 pages at most (12 pt font), including examples and references.
