Call Deadline: 01-Dec-2012

Audience: Outstanding (Applied) Linguists of the World ONLY
Call for Biographies

To pay tribute to the outstanding influential (applied) linguists of the world who
have been promoting the study and teaching of language both in their
homelands and on the international/universal arena, the International Journal
of Language Studies (IJLS) is planning to publish a couple of biographies in
each issue of the journal. IJLS is honored to invite outstanding (applied)
linguists of the world to send their biographies to ijls.editors at yahoo.com for
publication.

Please notice:

Each biography should be sent to the journal along with a high-resolution
photo of the (applied) linguist (minimum 300 dpi, 6*4 cm) to whom the
biography belongs. The biographies should be written in the format of
encyclopedic articles. If you plan to send your biography for publication in
IJLS, it should address the following issues:

-Birth and growth summary (dates, places, etc.)
-Education
-Why did you become interested in (applied) linguistics?
-Who was/were your role model(s)?
-What is your major contribution to the field?
-What is your professional philosophy of language
study/teaching/learning/evaluation/acquisition?
-What is your evaluation of the discipline (i.e., its strengths/weaknesses in
the past, present, ad future)?
-A descriptive abstract for each of your outstanding publications

Please notice:

The biographies should be written in third-person language. The word limit for
each biography is between 3000-5000. APA Editorial Style should be used for
the reference lists.

If you had less-known but outstanding mentors who are no longer alive and
you want to introduce them, you are welcomed to write their biographies for
IJLS. Please also forward this call to other outstanding (applied) linguists
whom you know--in your country or abroad.

Thank you very much!

Sincerely yours,

Mohammad Ali Salmani Nodoushan

501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These
donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax
