Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics

Language Family(ies): Nilo-Saharan

Call Deadline: 31-Jan-2013

Meeting Description:

After a brief interruption, the next Nilo-Saharan Linguistics Colloquium is now scheduled for 2013. Since the previously planned Nilo-Saharan Colloquium did not materialize due to organizational problems, and since no host for the next upcoming meeting has been selected so far, we would like to offer to organize the next Nilo-Saharan Linguistics Colloquium at the University of Cologne. The colloquium is intended to take place from May 29-31, 2013. We hope this meets your common interest and also that Cologne will be a congenial venue for the colloquium.

The organizing committee intends to acquire funding for those participants who may not be able to cover their travel costs.

We currently plan specific panels, e.g. a panel on Eastern Sudanic classification and reconstructions. We are looking forward to your suggestions for further panels as well as to your individual papers.

Call for Papers:

The call for papers and/or panels is open from now on until the deadline in January 31, 2013. For submissions, comments and enquiries please contact a.mietzner at uni-koeln.de or anne.storch at uni-koeln.de.

Greatly looking forward to welcoming you to Cologne,

Angelika Mietzner, Anne Storch and Gerrit Dimmendaal

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University and as
such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is a registered
501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These
donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax
return (U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the IRS Web-Site,
or contact your financial advisor.

Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match
any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this entails your
contacting your human resources department and sending us a form that the
EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer. This is generally a
simple administrative procedure that doubles the value of your gift to
LINGUIST, without costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if
your company operates such a program.
