Description:

The linguistics department of the University of Stuttgart, Germany, invites 
applications for a tenured W3 Professorship in German Linguistics starting 
in the 2012/2013 Winter Term.

The candidate will be responsible for research and teaching in theoretical 
and German linguistics in the following courses of study: German (for the 
state teachers' examination), linguistics (Bachelor), German (Bachelor), 
and language theory and comparison (Master). Interested applicants 
should be specialized in at least one field of theoretical and German 
linguistics with a view to language comparison. 

The research profile of the candidate should fit into the interdisciplinary 
nature of the Linguistics Department in Stuttgart (http://www.uni-stuttgart.de/linguistik/); 
the candidate is also expected to contribute to the close cooperation 
between the departments Linguistics and Natural Language Processing. 
Participation is expected in the Collaborative Research Project 
(Sonderforschungsbereich 732), Incremental Specification in Context (see: 
http://www.uni-stuttgart.de/linguistik/sfb732/), as well as in other projects 
related to language and cognition (see: http://www.fsk.uni-stuttgart.de/). 
Experience in obtaining third-party funding and an international profile is 
desirable.

Württemberg university law apply.
