Dear LINGUIST List Subscribers,

My name is Alison Zaharee and I have had the great opportunity
to work at The LINGUIST List while pursuing a graduate degree
in linguistics from Eastern Michigan University. Since this
opportunity would not be possible if not for the donations of
our subscibers, I'd like to take a moment to thank all of you
for your support. Please donate to this year's Fund Drive to
help keep us moving forward:

https://linguistlist.org/donation/donate/donate1.cfm

Since I began at The LINGUIST List in September 2010, I have
been working as a member of the LL-MAP project. This has
given me the chance to become more knowledgeable about the
geographical distribution of languages and language families
in areas of the world that have up until now been largely
unfamiliar to me. In addition to this project, I also work
as the Calls editor, another great area that illustrates the
international facet of the work that we do at The LINGUSIT List.
With submissions that come in from a large variety of
countries, I am always excited to provide these valuable
services to linguists from all areas of the world.

During my time at The LINGUIST List, I have acquired the
skills and knowledge that have allowed me to develop myself
as a linguist while at the same time giving me the chance to
give back to the linguistics community. All of these
experiences have depended greatly upon your generous support.
Through your donations and submissions to The LINGUIST List,
we can continue to provide a valuable resource to our subscribers
as well as offer opportunities to students like myself.

Please continue this support by donating at:

Sincerely,

Alison Zaharee
Student Editor

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University and as
such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is a registered
501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These
donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax
return (U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the IRS Web-Site,
or contact your financial advisor.

Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match
any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this entails your
contacting your human resources department and sending us a form that the
EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer. This is generally a
simple administrative procedure that doubles the value of your gift to
LINGUIST, without costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if
your company operates such a program.

Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
