Description:

The Language Services department provides language and translation 
services to the whole of the organization to ensure that support is given in the 
IB's languages to all external stakeholders including schools, teachers, 
examiners, governments, universities etc. The department also manages the 
translation of all the IB's web platforms, including the public web site.

The International Baccalaureate is currently looking for a:
Spanish Translator

A talented linguist with solid experience, some of which preferably gained in 
an in-house position, the Spanish Translator's main responsibilities will be to:  
-  Revise the translations of individual print and online texts produced by 
external translators and other members of the team to ensure the quality and 
consistency of Spanish materials
-  Translate publications and documents from English into Spanish, including 
on line material to meet deadlines and quality standards
-  Edit and proofread individual print and online publications to ensure the 
quality and consistency of Spanish materials.

Candidate profile:
-  University graduate with a qualification in translation
-  Solid experience as a translator/reviser, preferably in an in-house position 
-  Proven translation, editing and revising skills
-  Excellent command of English, to be able to interpret correctly and with 
minimal assistance complex texts
-  Excellent command of Spanish, equivalent to that of an educated native 
speaker
-  High level of computer literacy
-  Good analytical skills
-  Excellent eye for detail
-  Good communication and organizational skills
-  Able to work independently and proactively, and to meet deadlines
-  Aware of linguistic and cultural differences

Experience with CAT tools and good knowledge of other IB languages will be 
beneficial.

Location:
The Language Services department is a global function and has a presence 
in several sites in the organization. This post will be located in the IB Global 
Centre in Bethesda, Maryland, USA.
