ESL Teacher Education

Located in the heart of Quebec City, Université Laval is a major university 
recognized for its culture of excellence in teaching and research.

The Département de langues, linguistique et traduction at Université Laval 
invites applications for a position of professor in ESL (English as a Second 
Language) Teacher Education, effective August 1, 2012.

Closing date: April 23, 2012

Duties: 
-  Teaching courses in ESL teacher education at the undergraduate level
-  Teaching at the master's and doctoral level 
-  Research and supervision of master's and doctoral students
-  Active participation in program provision and promotion

Selection criteria:
-  Ph. D. (completed or imminent) in linguistics or in education, with a 
specialization in teaching ESL
-  Research in the area of  teaching ESL in schools and publications in the 
area
-  Experience in teaching ESL teacher education courses at the university 
level
-  Excellent proficiency in English and very good proficiency in French
-  Experience in teaching English as a second language in elementary or high 
school (teaching certificate an asset)
-  Familiarity with the Quebec school system is considered an asset

Remuneration and work conditions are in accordance with the current 
collective agreement.
