Meeting Description:

The Southern California Undergraduate Linguistics Conference (SCULC) is the only undergraduate linguistics conference on the West Coast.

Come share your research in linguistics with your peers and learn what they have been discovering. This is a great way to network, and is an opportunity not to be missed by those who wish to attend graduate school.

It is open to undergraduates in any subfield of linguistics, applied linguistics, or related topics.

Our keynote speakers will be Dr. William Leben of Stanford University and Lexicon Branding Co. (the company that came up with the names of products like Blackberry, PowerBook, Pentium, and more) and Prof. Megha Sundara of UCLA, who researches child language acquisition.

Don't miss this exciting chance to meet new people and learn new things. Take this opportunity to get your work out there!

Non-undergraduates are more than welcome to attend. 

Call for Papers:

Are you an undergraduate interested in sharing your linguistics research? This is the only undergraduate linguistics conference on the West Coast.

If you are interested in presenting your research, you must submit your abstract by Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 11:59 pm (PST). Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words (not including references) and can be on any topic related to linguistics, applied linguistics, or languages. Undergraduate research projects, individual study projects and term papers are all acceptable; papers may be works in progress. Please make all submissions in either .pdf or .doc(x) format. Students will have 20 minutes to present, with 5 minutes for Q&A following.

You can submit your abstract to bling at bruinling.org. You will be notified of the status of your application within a day or two of submitting.
