4th International Congress Applied Linguistics Today (ALT 4)

Conference theme: Challenges of Modern Times

Applied Linguistics Association of Serbia (ALAS), Faculty of Philology of the University of Belgrade and Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Novi Sad have the pleasure of announcing the 4th International Congress Applied Linguistics Today (ALT 4). The conference aims to bring together scholars working in different subfields: language teaching and assessment, language acquisition and processing, clinical linguistics, neurolinguistics, sociolinguistics, anthropological linguistics, forensic linguistics, and any other area falling within the general field of applied linguistics.

The list of plenary speakers, and information on registration, travel and accommodation, will be available soon on the conference website.

Registration Fee:

Conference registration fee is 70 euros for ALAS members, and 100 euros for other participants. The fee covers participation in the conference, conference materials, coffee breaks and refreshments, an evening buffet and publication costs. 

Call for Papers:

The conference theme includes the following general topics:

Theoretical frameworks in applied linguistics
Empirical research in applied linguistics
Applied linguistics and interdisciplinary research
Applied linguistics and new technologies
Applied linguistics and educational contexts

Anonymous abstracts of up to 300 words should be submitted via email as a Word or PDF attachment to the conference address dpls.alas at gmail.com. Please write 'Abstract ALT 4' in the subject line and include the following information in the body of the message:

(1) Name(s) of author(s)
(2) Title of talk
(3) Affiliation(s)
(4) Email address(es)
(5) Postal address of first author

Presentations will be 20 minutes long, followed by 10 minutes for discussion. The working languages of the conference are English, French and Serbian. 

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 30 June 2012. Authors will be notified of acceptance by 1 August 2012.
