The Hispanic Linguistics Symposium 2012 will be held October 25-28, 2012, at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.

Silvina Montrul, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
Acrisio Pires, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
Shana Poplack, University of Ottawa 

2nd Call for Papers:

Papers are invited in any area of Hispanic Linguistics and Language Acquisition and in any theoretical or quantitative framework. Additional information regarding associated workshops or special sessions will be provided on the conference website.

Submission Guidelines:

1. Papers may be delivered in English, Portuguese, or Spanish. Authors may submit up to two abstracts, one individual and one jointly authored.

2. The body of the abstract must be no more than one page in length, with a second page reserved for examples and references.

3. Abstracts must clearly present a specific thesis statement and include a description of topic, approach, and conclusions. To preserve anonymity during the review process, authors should not include their names or otherwise reveal their identities anywhere in the abstract.

4. Each abstract should be accompanied by four or five keywords to assist in the review process.

5. Please specify the title of the paper, area of research, name, academic affiliation, and email in the abstract submission.

6. Abstracts must be submitted through EasyAbstracts (EasyAbs):

7. All submissions must be received by June 1, 2012.

The Refereed Proceedings from the Hispanic Linguistics Symposium 2012 is expected to be published as part of the Cascadilla Proceedings Project.
