Description:

Middlesex University has announced two Professor/Reader positions in 
Language and Contemporary Media Practice as part of a larger number of 
appointments across the university. 

Overall Purpose: 
To work collaboratively within a Department to undertake and lead research 
and to ensure an effective learning experience for students within the 
strategic direction of the Department, School and University. 

Principal Duties:  
-  Leading the creation and development of a research strategy within the 
Media Department 
-  Individually and collaboratively undertake research of high international 
standing 
-  Playing a key role in the supervision of students undertaking research 
within the Department 
-  Leadership of learning, teaching and assessment activities related to 
research and development of research focused modules within curricula 
-  Leading the development of research proposals and funding within the 
Departments Strategic Plan 
-  Creating research networks within and outside the University for the 
purposes of advancing the Departments research agenda 
-  Contributing to the development of research agenda across the School and 
University
