Meeting Description:

At the occasion of the tenth anniversary of death of Péter Hajdú and Éva Schmidt a conference will be organized by the Seminar of Finno-Ugrian Studies and History of Hungarian Language and the Department of Ethnography and Cultural Anthropology for invited speakers and other participants. The conference will focus on the new research results in connection with scientific work of Péter Hajdú and Éva Schmidt.

The registration fee for the conference is EUR 30, the fee covers general conference costs, cultural events and receptions and the printing of the programme, the plenary sessions brochure, the abstracts and the congress volume. It does not cover accommodation and meals. 

Call for Papers:

The following topics are welcome for the conference: Samoyedic linguistics, research of the Ob-Ugrian languages, comparative historical linguistics, history of language, ethnography, fieldwork reports, prehistory, language comparison, teaching of history of language, distribution of knowledge, analysis of the scientific work of Péter Hajdú and Éva Schmidt, minority languages and language minorities, language rights, language policy. 

For the congress sections papers and posters are also accepted, the plenary sessions take 30 minutes, the others take 15 minutes long followed by a discussion.

Other Information:

Papers and posters can be given in Hungarian, English, German and Russian. For section papers and posters, abstracts must be submitted either in Hungarian, English, German and Russian. Abstracts will be refereed anonymously, and their acceptance will be decided by the organising committee.

Important Dates:

The deadline for registration is 25 May 2012.
The deadline for abstract submission is 23 June 2012.
Notification of acceptance will be sent out by 17 July 2012.
Payment of registration fee is 13 August 2012.
