 Hi everyone,

I am teaching a course at Pitt called ''Applications of Linguistics,'' which is a survey of many topics in which linguistic theory is put to work in 'practical' ways, such as language teaching, language planning, law, medicine, and so forth. I am well-versed in some of these areas but not all. In the past, I have relied on a text of readings, but many is not all are now hopelessly out of date, so I am looking for new readings. So I am canvassing for introductory/overview readings (or even accessible research articles) in the following areas, hoping that some folks on LINGUIST will be able to cut down the number of unusable readings I will need to consider:

Bilingual education
Human-Computer Interaction
Language plannning
Language revitalization
Natural Language Processing
Speech pathology
Translation

Please reply directly to me and I will summarize. Ideas for other topics welcome too!
