Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Konstanz invites
applications for the position of a akademischer Mitarbeiter (equiv.
assistant professor), E13, in General and Germanic Linguistics to be filled
by April 1, 2013. The position is temporally limited and cannot be extended
beyond March 31, 2016.

The successful candidate must have a broad linguistic background and
excellent knowledge of current linguistic theory, preferably in the domain
of generative syntax, as well as demonstrable expertise in experimental
research on language. He/she should be able to run a psycholinguistics lab
for the study of syntactic processing with on-line methodologies
(self-paced reading; eye-tracking) including statistical analysis. The
focus is on theoretical linguistic research with a solid empirical basis. 

Teaching (2 seminars, i.e. 4hrs, per week) and examination duties include
the programs in General and Germanic Linguistics. 

We are looking for candidates with a qualified PhD or doctoral dissertation
whose expertise is demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals,
edited books or monographs, and papers in competitive conferences.
   
Cooperation with existing and planned research at the chair of General and
