Our friend and colleague Dr. Christine Matyear passed away the morning
of October 4th.

Chris Matyear was a friend and colleague who received her doctorate in
Linguistics with Dr. Peter F. MacNeilage at the University of Texas at
Austin, and then joined the faculty in Communication Sciences and
Disorders.

Chris was a buoyant spirit who met life's ultimate challenge like she
approached everything - head on. She was a woman of high intelligence
and integrity, and an exeptional teacher. More importantly, it was her
grace and compassion that touched all of us. She will be greatly missed.
