Meeting Description:

The Department of Linguistics and Languages at McMaster University is pleased to announce that the 22nd meeting of the Formal Approaches to Slavic Linguistics (FASL) will be held on May 3-5, 2013 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. 

Invited Speakers:

Maria Gouskova, New York University
Roumyana Pancheva, University of Southern California
David Pesetsky, Massachusetts Institute of Technology 
 
The conference will be followed by a 2-3 day free workshop (funding-dependent). Students are strongly encouraged to attend. More information about the workshop will be found on the meeting website, as it becomes available: http://www.humanities.mcmaster.ca/~fasl22/. Please consult the meeting website for future travel information, accommodations and more information about the conference, which will be posted as soon as possible. Travel funding may also be available for the duration of the conference. The organizing committee is also looking into providing childcare support during the conference. This information will be also be posted on the website as soon as funding is finalized.

Call for Papers:

Abstracts are invited for talks or posters related to formal Slavic linguistics, including phonology, phonetics, syntax, semantics and morphology, both theoretical and experimental. Talks will be 30 minutes, followed by a 10-minute question period. Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint abstract per author OR two joint abstracts per author. 

Abstracts should be submitted through the Easy Chair conference system. Abstracts must be submitted in PDF format and are limited to two pages of text, including data and references. Abstracts should be typed in 12-point font, with 1-inch margins (2.5 cm) on each side. All submissions should be anonymous and must include 5 key words. Please indicate on your submission if you would like to be considered for a talk or a poster presentation. Submissions that do not follow these guidelines will not be considered for the conference.
