Description:

Assistant Professor of Spanish (Hispanic Studies) with a specialization in
sociolinguistics, emphasis on Spanish in the United States, heritage
speakers, and/or languages in contact preferred. The ideal candidate should
be knowledgeable about service/engaged learning and have an action research
agenda. The successful candidate will help create and teach graduate- and
undergraduate-level courses in his or her field, including courses on
designing and executing action research projects, as well as Spanish
language and linguistics courses at all levels. Applicants should
demonstrate commitment to teaching, research, and service to the
university, community, and profession. 

Minimum Qualifications: 
Ph.D. required; however, ABD with significant qualifications may be
considered for initial appointment as Instructor. All degrees should be
from appropriately accredited institutions. Native or near-native Spanish
and English.
