Description:

Assistant Professor in Spanish Translation Studies

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at The University of
Texas at San Antonio invites applications for a tenure-track position at
the rank of Assistant Professor in Spanish Translation Studies beginning in
Fall 2013.

Responsibilities:  
Teaching Spanish translation studies within the B.A. and M.A. programs in
Spanish. Leadership in coordination and development of the Translation
Studies program.

Required Qualifications:  
Ph.D. in Spanish linguistics, translation studies, or related field in hand
by May 31, 2013. University or college teaching experience, fluent in
Spanish.  Research record or demonstrated research potential commensurate
with experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 
Interest and expertise in teaching translation. Experience in Spanish for
Special Purposes in fields such as cryptolinguistics, national security,
and law enforcement is a plus. Experience with grants and funding is
strongly preferred.
