Description:

Job Description: Language Engineers conduct or participate in language
technology research and development, particularly related to language data.
Duties include  developing and executing language data collection and
annotation, hands on testing of language technology prototypes and
applications, and development of linguistic resources such as grammars and
lexica. Language engineers collaborate with the computational linguistic and
engineering teams in software development of language technology prototypes
and applications. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education in
linguistics and computer science,  judgement and creativity.

Qualifications:
-  BS Computer Science
-  BA Linguistics
-  Excellent analytic skills
-  Must have good attention to detail 
-  Strong background in Syntax and Semantics
-  Demonstrated programming skills
-  Familiarity with languages other than English
-  Flexibility
-  3 years experience on language technology related projects and/or
employment

Candidates with one or more of the following additional qualifications will be
most competitive:
-  Experience in linguistic annotation
-  Experience designing and/or running psycholinguistics or psychology
experiments or doing human factors studies
-  Experience with grammar formalisms such as LFG
-  Background in pragmatics, discourse and/or dialog
-  Native or near native skill in one or more of Mexican Spanish, German,
Italian, French, Mandarin
-  Background in phonetics and phonology
