Description:

Postdoctoral research fellowship is available as part of an exciting research
project on the topic of "Gender, Sexuality and the Semiotics of Public Spaces
in Johannesburg". The position will be for two years, with renewal after one
year based on performance and progress.

Minimum Requirements:
-  PhD obtained within the last 5 years
-  Specialization in one or several of the following fields:
sociolinguistics,(critical) discourse analysis, semiotic landscapes, gender
and sexuality studies, cultural geography, urban studies.

Experience with the following would be advantageous:
-  Ethnographic methods

Duties and Expectations:
-  Undertake focused and high quality research
-  Undertake other academic activities such as co-supervision of post-graduate
students and organization of small workshops and seminars.
