Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Stanford University announces a search to fill a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of syntax, with a starting date of September 1, 2014.  Duties include teaching and advising at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and maintaining an active research program.  Candidates should hold the PhD in linguistics or a related field by the starting date.

The Department particularly values candidates whose work engages with multiple subfields of linguistics and connects methodologically rigorous empirical insights, such as from fieldwork or experimental research, to significant theoretical questions.

Applications should include:  a cover letter addressed to Stanford Linguistics Search Committee; a CV; statements of research and teaching interests (no more than two pages each); summary teaching evaluations (if available); up to three representative samples of published or unpublished work; and the names and e-mail addresses of three or four references.  All applicants should also arrange for their letters of reference to be sent via email, in PDF format, directly to the Search Committee at the application email address below.

Please send supporting documents as individual files in PDF format (not zipped), and attached in a single email message or multiple emails if necessary.
