Description:

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Department of Linguistics at Rochester, as part of the ToPIQQ (Tonal Placement – Interaction of Qualitative and Quantitative Factors) project, funded by Volkswagen Foundation. The project is coordinated by Martine Grice and Anne Hermes at the University of Cologne, Germany, and involves an international group of investigators. The goal of ToPIQQ is to identify factors influencing the placement and distribution of lexical and intonational tones in a range of typologically distinct languages. Further information can be found at the ToPIQQ site (http://phonetik.phil-fak.uni-koeln.de/243.html).

This is non-renewable, one-year to 18 month position. Salary is set by the Volkswagen Foundation. The anticipated start date is September 15, 2013. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

While the individual research area is open, priority will be given to applicants whose research complements that of the ToPIQQ project. Prof. Joyce McDonough will supervise the postdoc.

To apply, please send a CV, a short cover letter outlining your qualifications, and a brief overview of your research interests as a single pdf file with the subject ToPIQQ Postdoc to Prof. Joyce McDonough at the application email address below. Please include the names of two referees.
