Meeting Description:

The Congress is an annual gathering of more than 3,000 scholars interested in
Medieval Studies. It features more than 550 sessions of papers, panel
discussions, roundtables, workshops, and performances. There are also some 90
business meetings and receptions sponsored by learned societies, associations,
and institutions. The exhibits hall boasts nearly 70 exhibitors, including
publishers, used book dealers, and purveyors of medieval sundries. The
Congress lasts three and a half days, extending from Thursday morning until
Sunday at noon.


Call for Papers:

The 49th International Congress on Medieval Studies, to be held at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, 8–11 May 2014, will include three sessions dedicated to the medieval Germanic languages. One session will be devoted to Old High German, one to Gothic, and one to other Germanic languages and/or comparative studies. Please submit 500 word abstracts to Tina Boyer (boyertm at wfu.edu), Tonya Kim Dewey (tonya.dewey at lle.uib.no), or Adam Oberlin (oberl024 at umn.edu) by 15 September 2013. PDF or Doc files are preferred.
