2nd UWM Symposium on Luso-Hispanic Linguistics

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at UW-Milwaukee announces the 2nd UWM Symposium on Luso-Hispanic Linguistics (II SLHL), to be held Saturday, November 23 2013 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Professor Andrés Enrique-Arias (Universitat de les Illes Balears, Spain).

Call for Papers:

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at UW-Milwaukee invites submissions for papers to be presented at the 2nd UWM Symposium on Luso-Hispanic Linguistics (II SLHL), to be held Saturday, November 23 2013 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Submissions for the main session from PhD and MA students, and other junior scholars, are welcome in any field of descriptive, applied or theoretical linguistics from a synchronic or diachronic perspective. Papers dealing with language contact issues are particularly welcome.

After the workshop, presenters may submit papers for publication in the upcoming UW-Milwaukee & UW-Madison Working Papers in Luso-Hispanic Linguistics. 

Abstracts should be at most one page, with one-inch margins and 12-point font. A second page may be included for references and/or data. Abstracts should be sent to reidoval at uwm.edu.

The deadline for submission is 12 a.m. CST on Monday, September 30 2013. You will be notified of the status of your submission by mid-October.
