Guest Editors:
Dr. Yo In'nami, Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan
Dr. Rie Koizumi, Juntendo University, Japan

Research synthesis and meta-analysis are becoming topics of great importance and interest to scholars in second language and testing fields, as research in these domains has seen increased development within recent decades. This special issue aims to unite scholars in these fields to identify and discuss current issues and trends in research synthesis and meta-analysis. It also aims to bring together analyses of substantive, key issues in need of qualitative and/or quantitative synthesis, as well as the application of statistical, meta-analytic techniques. Contributions that address a wide range of related issues are invited. Areas for consideration include, but are not limited to, the following:

*Presentations of synthetic and/or meta-analytic research methods to solve existing problems in the fields;
*Reports of original applied research focusing on research synthesis and/or meta-analysis;
*Presentations of combined use of qualitative and quantitative synthesis methods;
*Reviews of works on research synthesis and meta-analysis in second language learning and testing contexts.
