Hybrids and Hybridity
28-29 March 2014

The conference will examine the phenomenon of hybridity (all kinds of combining or blending elements from different domains) in all its aspects in language, literature, and culture. 

The language of the conference will be English. 

Conference Fee: 

Full: 200 PLN /50 Euro
PhD students: 150 PLN/40 Euro

The venue of the conference: 

Department of English Philology, Jan Kochanowski University, 114/118 
Slowackiego str., Piotrkow Trybunalski

Call for Papers:

Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
 
- Conceptual integration (blending) as reflected in language or images
- Hybrid genres and modalities        
- Literary representation of hybrid creatures 
- Hybrid cultural identities 

Abstracts of ca. 200-300 words should be sent by 1 March 2014 to (Prof.) Alina Kwiatkowska and/or (Dr.) Agnieszka Kocieba hybridsconf at gmail.com.
