Meeting Description:

The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) are pleased to announce that the next Colloquium on Generative Grammar (CGG) will be held at the Center for Social Sciences and Humanities (CCHS-CSIC) in Madrid, on May 28 and 29, 2014.

The CGG is a conference where linguists from all over the world discuss the latest proposals on syntax, semantics, phonology and phonetics of natural languages within the Generative framework. The CGG is one of the main conferences on this topic held in Europe.

The CGG was first conceived by Violeta Demonte, and was hosted at the UAM in 1991. Since then, it has been organized every year in a different city across the Iberian Peninsula, and in 2014 it returns to Madrid, where CSIC and UAM have joined forces to organize a very special edition of this conference. We dedicate this edition to our colleague, mentor and friend, Violeta Demonte, in the year of her retirement. With the collaboration of institutions, colleagues and participants, we hope to succeed in making this a fruitful as well as memorable event.

The Colloquium will be followed by a one-day workshop on lexicon-syntax-semantics interfaces, in honor of Violeta Demonte, on May 30.

Registration fees: 70€ EUR. presenters / 20€ EUR. attendees

Organizers: Olga Fernández Soriano (UAM), Elena Castroviejo (ILLA, CCHS-CSIC) and Isabel Pérez-Jiménez (UAH/ILLA, CCHS-CSIC).

2nd Call for Papers:
