Required Language(s): English (eng)

Description:

Job Assignments:
The position includes both own research as well as teaching and tutoring at first-cycle, second-cycle and third-cycle levels within the stated subject area as well as certain administrative work. Further, there is a requirement of informing about subject-relevant research and development work, as well as contributing actively to the subject's and the department's research environment.

The tenured professor shall also initiate and contribute towards planning research projects, which also comprises such tasks as actively working with applications for external research funds.

Another important ingredient is participation in subject-relevant knowledge dispersal in the surrounding society.

Assessment:
Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Scholarly proficiency must have been demonstrated through the candidate’s own research involving complex and demanding issues, significant theoretical awareness, a great deal of methodological proficiency and a high degree of analytical ability. Scholarly proficiency must be considerably higher than that required in order to be accepted as an unpaid docent (reader). A guideline for the scope of scholarly proficiency is that, in addition to qualification for appointment as a docent (reader), significantly more is required in terms of publications and other scholarly qualifications. See The Faculty of Arts Instructions for Applicants in Connection with Appointments as Professor: http://bit.ly/1cImAAi

Additional Information:
Applicants that do not have higher education pedagogical training of at least 15 higher education credits and that are not deemed to have acquired the corresponding knowledge in any other way, shall undergo such training during the first two years of employment.

Knowledge of Swedish is no requirement at the appointment, but the applicant shall be prepared, when necessary and within two years, to assume administrative and pedagogical assignments that require understanding and usage of the Swedish language.
