Meeting Description:

The Department of Mathematical Linguistics, Faculty of Philology, St. Petersburg State University, jointly with the Institute for Linguistic Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Department of Applied Linguistics, Faculty of Philology, Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia are happy to announce the details of the International Conference «Corpus Linguistics - 2013».

The conference will be held in St. Petersburg, 25-27 June 2013.

The conference is intended to cover a wide range of issues in Corpus Linguistics, of either theoretical or practical significance. The topics of the conference encompass the representativeness of corpora, relevance of source documents, linguistic and metalinguistic mark-up, as well as other subjects of linguistic, computational, and technological fields in corpora making. A special area of Corpus Linguistics proposed for discussion is the use of corpora in linguistic research and development of specialized toolkits, primarily user-friendly corpus managers for linguistic search. The speakers and other participants will be invited to sum up the results of the conference at the final roundtable session.

Registration Fee:

Citizens of the Russian Federation: Early registration (by 10 May) 2000 rub. / Late registration 3000 rub.
Citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States: Early registration 2500 rub. / Late registration 4000 rub.
Foreign Participants: Early registration 4000 rub. (100 euro) / Late registration 6000 rub. (150 euro)

Bank account for registration fees will be given in the Information Letter № 3.

- Models of data organization in corpora
- Standards in corpus linguistics
- Tools for corpora development and use
- Morphological analysis and annotation of texts in corpora
- Semantic analysis and annotation of texts in corpora
- Syntactic analysis and annotation of texts in corpora
- Specialized corpora
- Parallel corpora, automatic terminology extraction and machine translation
- Spoken corpora
- Text corpora and formal ontologies, thesauri, databases

Applicants should register their interest in attending the conference by submitting full or short papers by the 15 April 2013. Notice of acceptance will be sent to authors by the 1 May 2013. Camera-ready papers should be presented by the 10 May 2013.

Recommendations on paper formatting are given in the file CORPORA2013_Publications_eng.doc, see also the site of the conference.

In course of review procedure preference will be given to papers fully corresponding to conference topics and being of much interest as regards corpora development and use.

The Proceedings will be published by the beginning of the Conference.

We kindly ask the authors to follow the requirements concerning camera-ready papers and abstracts. Non-observance of recommendations for authors may be the reason for rejection of the paper in course of review procedure.
