Meeting Description:

COST ACTION IS0804 Final conference entitled Child Language Impairment in Multilingual Context will be held at the Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland, May 27-29, 2013.

COST Action IS0804 final conference. COST Action IS0804 aims at creating and testing basic tools for the assessment of the linguistic and cognitive development of bilingual children, which can later help establish cross-linguistic diagnostic norms. The development of bilingual children is different from that of their monolingual peers, and the differences in language acquisition between children in both groups may sometimes lead to conclusions that bilingual children do not develop typically. Educators and clinicians may diagnose such children with Specific Language Impairment (SLI). COST Action IS0804 has established a network that coordinates research on the linguistic and cognitive abilities of typically developing children and children with SLI across different migrant communities.

During the final conference in Kraków in May 2013 the results the entire international COST Action IS0804 project will be presented and discussed.
