8th Language at the University of Essex Postgraduate Conference
Thursday 13 - Friday 14 June 2013
University of Essex, Colchester, UK

The Department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex invites you to its eighth postgraduate two-day conference which will be held at the University of Essex on Thursday 13 - Friday 14 June 2013.

The conference aims at bringing together postgraduate students to present and discuss current research, results and problems from any field of linguistics.

Conference Format:

The conference will include presentations of papers, posters, workshops and plenary talks.

Invited Plenary Speakers:

We are pleased to announce Dr. Alan Waters (University of Lancaster) and Dr. Florence Myles (University of Essex) as this year’s plenary speakers.

Registration:

Information regarding registration will be available on the website in due course.

Call for Papers:

Abstracts of no more than 250 words are invited on any topic in linguistics. The deadline for receipt of abstracts for oral presentations or poster presentations and workshops is Sunday 10 March 2013

Please send your abstract to langue at essex.ac.uk.

All abstracts should be in accordance with the formatting guidelines laid out in the ‘LangUE 2013 Abstract Submission Form’. This document and further details are also available on the website:

Note that no late submissions will be accepted. All submissions will be peer-reviewed.

Proceedings:

Submission to the ‘Proceedings of the LangUE’ will be invited from all those who present their work at the LangUE 2013. Submissions must be emailed to langue at essex.ac.uk by the date of the conference, and revised papers may be submitted in the two weeks following the conference (to allow for revisions following comments/discussion at the conference). Proceedings guidelines will be available through the website shortly. The proceedings will be published online.
