Description:

The School of European Culture and Languages is seeking to appoint a Lecturer
in English Language and Linguistics, with a research specialisation in the
theory of second language processing and acquisition; candidates whose
research focuses on the areas of phonetics and experimental phonology are
particularly encouraged to apply. A secondary expertise in another area of
linguistics including (but not limited to) sociolinguistics or computational
linguistics is desirable but not essential. This position has been recently
created in recognition of the growing importance of the Department of English
Language and Linguistics in the School of European Culture and Languages (for

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant discipline with a
research specialisation in the theory of second language processing and
acquisition with a focus in phonetics and experimental phonology. Evidence of
substantial research activity, including peer reviewed publications and
teaching experience at university level are essential.
