Meeting Description:

AELFE, the European Association of Languages for Specific Purposes, has as its prime objective the advancement of research into and teaching of languages for specific purposes at higher education level within a context of harmonization of educational institutions in the EU. There is a growing need for authoritative voices to be heard, in the context of expanding European research, translation and teaching of languages in specific fields, such as Law, Engineering and the Health Sciences. Leading experts in these specialties will be taking part as keynote speakers, and we hope too that the conference will serve as a fruitful forum for an exchange of ideas between teachers.

During this conference, we will be looking at the challenges posed by multilingualism in Europe and the latest technological advances in the field, which is why it has as its title ‘A Roadmap for Languages for Specific Purposes’: Multilingualism and ICT’s (Information and Communication Technologies).

Call for Papers:

Abstracts of papers should be sent by this date to the conference coordinator Alan Floyd (afloyd at udc.es), who will send them to members of the scientific committee for blind peer reviews. Maximum 250 words. Authors should please include first name and surname, their educational institution, address, email address, telephone / fax, and the specialist panel their presentation will belong to (see our website). They should also indicate any audiovisual equipment they will need.
