Description:

The Department of German Linguistics at the University of Goettingen has been
authorized to advertise a full-time position as research associate in the
working group of Prof. Dr. Anke Holler. Starting on 1 April 2013, this is a
three-year position with a regular weekly working time of 39.8 hours that may
be renewable for a second term.

Responsibilities include the organization and management of the
Psycholinguistics laboratory, the coordination of the working group’s
different empirical and experimental studies including the consultancy in the
planning, implementation and interpretation of those studies, the
participation in funding application and implementation of psycholinguistic
research projects as well as the participation in teaching and examination
procedures (in German).

Due to its focus on experimental methods the Department of German Linguistics
has a well-equipped lab featuring an EyeLink II measuring station as well as a
behavioral lab at its disposal. Furthermore, the applicant will have access to
the eye-tracking labs of the Courant Research Center, an interdisciplinary
research institute that was funded by the German Excellence Initiative of the
federal and state governments.

Requirements for a successful application are an advanced degree in
Psycholinguistics, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Linguistics or another
related field of study, and a relevant PhD; a theoretically informed research
specialization in cognitive speech processing or experimental linguistics;
experience with experimental research methods in psychology, eye-tracking in
particular. The applicant should be willing to work interdisciplinary and be
able to work in a team. It is possible for the applicant to carry out his own
research.
