Description:

The Faculty of Arts is seeking to fill the following vacancy as of 1 September
2013:

Professor of Language and Communication f/m
For 1,0 fte (both men and women are encouraged to apply)

The Faculty of Arts of VU University Amsterdam, located in Amsterdam’s
burgeoning Zuidas district, is a dynamic faculty with expertise in the areas
of language, communication, art, culture and history. The teaching we provide
in our degree programmes covers the full breadth of the disciplines involved
while offering unique opportunities for truly in-depth, focused study. Our
research is firmly embedded in the university’s various interfaculty research
institutes. In addition, the faculty is a real innovator in the field of
social entrepreneurship and knowledge transfer.

Job Description:
The prospective professor will be responsible for developing, coordinating and
providing education in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in Communication
and Information Sciences. He or she will also coordinate and/or run research
projects focusing on the effectiveness of language and communication processes
