HEA Thematic Workshop

International Association for the Study of Spanish in Society (SIS)
Language Research Centre (LRC), Research Institute for Arts and Humanities (RIAH), Swansea University

This workshop will explore the applications of state of the art language and translation tools (online, electronic and interactive) to the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language and how they can contribute to the expansion of Spanish language and culture worldwide. It will bring together experts in the fields of applied linguistics and translation, who will provide their professional experience in the field, particularly with regard to international collaboration with Spanish-speaking countries. This workshop will also provide a forum for postgraduate students to present their work and to make contact with researchers, professionals and employers in their field. Representatives from private sector employers and HE employment representatives will explore the relevance of language and translation tools in the workplace.
