Meeting Description:

The International Conference on the Structure of Hungarian is a meeting organized biannually for linguists working on or having an interest in any linguistically relevant aspect of the Hungarian language.

The 11th International Conference on the Structure of Hungarian is organized jointly by Pázmány Péter Catholic University and the Research Institute for Linguistics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, August 29-31, 2013, Piliscsaba, Hungary.

Invited Speakers:

Valeria Molnár (Lund University, Sweden)
Anna Szabolcsi (New York University)
Robert M. Vago (City University of New York)

Registration fee: HUF 20,000 (EUR 70.00/USD 80.00; students have a 50 per cent reduction)

Call for Papers:

Abstracts are solicited for 30-minute presentations (plus 10 minutes for discussion) that make a contribution to our understanding of the structure of the language and/or the structure of linguistic theory, including any characteristic of the morphology, phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, or pragmatics of Hungarian.

Anonymous, maximally two-page abstracts including examples/illustrations and references (with one-inch/2.5cm margins all around, in a font no smaller than 12pt, written in English) should be submitted as PDF files to the following address:

in an attachment to a letter specifying the author(s) and their affiliation(s), as well as the section to which the prospective paper belongs. Papers presented at the conference are eligible for publication in the series Approaches to Hungarian, published by John Benjamins, Amsterdam (http://benjamins.com/#catalog/books/atoh/main).

One person is allowed to submit maximum two abstracts: one as a sole author or co-author, and another as a co-author.

Deadline for submission of abstracts: March 20, 2013
Authors will be notified of acceptance of their abstracts until May 1, 2013.
