Description:

The Faculty of Linguistics and Literary Studies, University of Bielefeld,
collaborative research institute 673 ''Alignment in Communication'',
advertises a half-time position as research assistant (Wissenschaftlicher
Mitarbeiter/Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) in linguistics (E 13 TV-L) in the
working group ''General Linguistics'' (Prof. Stavros Skopeteas).

Job Description: Typological investigations on coordination in dialogue,
design and interpretation of cross-linguistic experiments in syntax and
prosody with special focus on conversation, linguistic fieldwork,
participation to the research activities of the collaborative research
institute 673 “Alignment in Dialogue”, management of project budget,
coordination of student assistants and external associate researchers.

There is an opportunity of starting a Ph.D. project within this position.

Requirements: M.A. in linguistics, experience in the areas of language
typology, linguistic fieldwork, design and interpretation of experiments,
experience in writing scientific publications in English.

The earliest starting date is 1. April 2013; the position is terminated on
30.06.2014. In case of a prolongation of the collaborative research institute
in 2014 - and after an evaluation of the scientific work of the candidate -
this position can be prolonged for another four years.
