Description:

The research group 'Referenzkorpus Frühneuhochdeutsch' at the University of
Potsdam, Germany, invites applications from (computational) linguists (M.Sc.
or equivalent) for a research position (part-time, salary according to TV-L
E13). The starting date for the position is October 1st, 2013 or as soon as
possible. The position is open until filled.

The project aims at building a morphologically and syntactically annotated
corpus of Early New High German. The key duties of the position include the
following responsibilities:
- Developing, updating and maintaining a treebank of Early New High German
- Critical survey and testing of alternative tools for treebank annotation
- Close cooperation with associated research groups at the locations in
Bochum/Germany and Halle/Germany

Applicants should demonstrate the following skills:
- Solid knowledge of UNIX/LINUX
- Experience with MySQL and other relational databases
- Good command of German
- Good organizational and analytical skills 
- Good communication skills 

Applications should include a CV, an outline of research experience as well as
a list with possible referees. The initial period of appointment for this
position is until March 31, 2015 with the possibility of renewal depending on
funding and performance.
