Description:

At the University of Heidelberg, Germany, there is an immediate opening for a Research Coordinator for the project "Patterns in Language and Cognition, Culture, and Nature-- Emergence and mobility" for 12 months (E 13 TV-L).

The project is part of the Field of Focus "Cultural dynamics in globalized worlds", which is funded by the Research Council as part of the German Initiative for Excellence.

We are looking for an academic with a PhD, preferable in the fields of linguistics, cognitive sciences, computer linguistics, digital humanities, or literary and cultural studies, with good organizational and communicative skills, experience in managing academic projects and an interest in interdisciplinary research. One of the fields of research of the applicant should lie in the area of pattern identification, pattern modelling, or pattern classification. 

Major tasks of the future holder of this position are building up an interdisciplinary research project on "Patterns in Language and Cognition, Culture, and Nature-- Emergence and mobility", organizing working meetings as well as an international workshop on the topic and preparing a major interdisciplinary application.
