A festschrift is being planned in honour of Professor Oladipo Salami, a
distinguished scholar and academic, and Dean, Faculty of Arts, Obafemi Awolowo
University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. This publication, with the title Mapping Recent
Advances in Applied Linguistics, is being put together by friends and
colleagues of Professor Dipo Salami to mark his 60th birthday. The book is
expected to prompt original, data-based arguments and discussions on current
issues and methodologies, and to set a new point of reference for the next
generation of scholars and academics across the globe.

Professor Oladipo Salami has distinguished himself through his publications
which report on fields ranging from Language Use and Attitude to Ethnography
of Communication, Language Policy, Bilingualism and Multilingualism, and
Discourse and Politics among others. Professor Oladipo Salami is also reputed
to have mentored numerous younger colleagues, some of whom have gained
recognition as eminent linguists in their own right, in the course of a career
spanning over 35 years.

Interested linguists and scholars are hereby invited to send in their
abstracts to the editors by e-mail to the following e-mail addresses:
adelekefakoya at yahoo.com and sky_omoniyi at yahoo.com and kehinday77 at yahoo.co.uk.
While all abstracts or indication of intention to contribute to the
publication are expected to be in by 30 June 2013, all completed papers (which
should not exceed 15 pages of A4 sized paper, including references, graphs,
tables etc. and typed double spaced) should reach the editors by 31st August
2013.
