Meeting Description:

We are very pleased to announce that the second workshop on syntax and semantics in China (SSiC 2013) will be held at PLA University of Foreign Languages at Kun Shan, Jiangsu Province, from October 19 to October 20 (Saturday and Sunday), 2013. The conference aims at creating a cooperative, friendly and enlightening forum for those who are working on Chinese syntax and semantics.

Call for Papers:

Young scholars and other colleagues who are working on the following topics are particularly welcome:

(1) Syntax and semantics of Chinese languages and dialects
(2) First language acquisition (lexical, syntactic and semantic) in bilingual contexts 
(3) Syntax and semantics of Chinese dialects
(4) Syntactic and semantic theories

Guidelines for Abstract Submission:

Abstracts are invited for talks on any fields of syntax and semantics, though preference will be given to those on Chinese dialects and minority languages by young scholars. Each talk will be given 30 minutes, including a 10-minitute discussion. Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint abstract per author.

Abstracts should be sent to the conference email box: ssic2013 at 126.com. Other methods of submission are not encouraged.

Abstracts should be no more than 2 pages (A4 size) with font size no smaller than 10 (or size 5 for Chinese characters). Both PDF file and MS word file are required.

Abstracts can be in either English or Chinese. English abstracts and presentations are preferred.

Reviewing Policy:

Acceptance will be based on blind peer review. No more than 30 abstracts will be selected for presentation at the conference. Each abstract will be assigned to at least three reviewers.

Deadline for abstract submission: August 20, 2013
Date for abstract notification: September 15, 2013
Dates for the workshop: October 19-20, 2013
