Description:

The TESOL Program at American University is looking to fill two (2) full-time
term faculty positions for 2013-2014 academic year, subject to final budgetary
approval.

Each new faculty member will be responsible for developing up to three online
TEFL courses under the supervision of the TESOL Program Director and for
teaching four 3-credit graduate-level TESOL courses (or equivalent) during the
academic year.  Online courses will be developed for the new MA in TEFL
program and will emphasize the content of teaching English as a foreign
language and teacher training.  The new faculty members will also be expected
to contribute to the evaluations of teaching portfolios and serve as committee
members on oral comprehensive exams.

Qualifications: 
-  M.A. in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Language Education or a closely related
field is required, Ph.D. preferred
-  At least two years of successful EFL teaching outside of the US 
-  A record of successful ESL teaching; extensive experience in online course
development
-  Experience in graduate level teaching and teacher-training are required 
-  Evidence of scholarly ability and potential preferred
