The aim of the APCLC 2014 is to bring together academics from around the world, and from the Asia Pacific area in particular, in order to report on the varied developments in the use of corpora in linguistics, language learning and translation studies. Some countries have a number of well-developed projects related to the theoretical and applied aspects of corpus analysis; other countries are just starting to develop corpus resources. Through this conference, we will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and expertise and lay the foundations for future developments in the application of corpus resources in Asia and the Pacific.

Call for Papers:

We invite papers in all aspects of Corpus Linguistics, from teachers, research students, researchers, training consultants and practitioners from the industry. Conference themes include, but are not limited to:

- Corpora and language learning
- Translation corpora
- Corpora and the web
- Corpora and discourse analysis
- Learner corpora
- Usage-based linguistics
- Theoretical issues in corpus analysis
                                                  
Abstract Submission:

All presentations will be 30 minutes, including a 10-minute Q&A. Your abstract, including references (in MS Word Version), should not exceed 300 words. 

On a separate page, please include the title of the paper, theme area (state one of the above, or a theme that best describes your paper), your name and academic title, your affiliation, and your email address and postal address.

Each participant can submit up to one abstract as the lead author and one abstract as a co-author. Lead authors must register on or before 17 January 2014 (Friday) in order for the paper to be included in the conference programme.
