Description:

LENA Research Foundation in Boulder, Colorado is seeking a PhD in
Developmental Psychology, Linguistics or Communication Sciences for the
position of Language Research Director. This high profile position involves
management of multiple internal research studies, data analysis, consulting
with outside researchers, presenting study results at conferences and writing
manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication. The position provides a unique
opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in a wide range of areas
including autism, deafness, and early intervention with disadvantaged
children. The Language Research Director is integral to our current and
expanding national and international collaborations in countries such as UK,
France, South Korea, China and Saudi Arabia. In addition to scientific
research, the Language Research Director will also be involved with multiple
aspects of the development of LENA technology and services, working closely
with the founder and foundation engineers on development projects.

Candidates should demonstrate experience in the following:
-  Expertise in early childhood development
-  Background in social science research design and implementation
-  Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a research team
-  Aptitude for directing multiple projects and meeting established deadlines
-  Excellent written and oral communication skills

The ideal candidate will also be skilled or have experience in:
-  Significant publication history
-  Strong statistics background
-  Transcription of spontaneous recordings of infants and toddlers
