‘Iorgu Iordan - Al. Rosetti’ Institute of Linguistics of the Romanian Academy, Bucharest has the pleasure to invite you to the 5th International Symposium on Linguistics (Bucharest, October 4-5, 2013).

The symposium continues the tradition of scientific reunions organized by ‘Iorgu Iordan - Al. Rosetti’ Institute of Linguistics and invites the national and international scientific community to debate various issues in general and Romanian linguistics.

Invited speakers: Prof. dr. Martin Maiden, University of Oxford, United Kingdom, Fellow of the British Academy; Prof. dr. Wolfgang Viereck, University of Bamberg, Germany.

Registration and payment: July 11-September 1, 2013
Fee: Romanian participants - 150 lei; international participants: 35 euro

The fee covers the symposium materials, coffee breaks and snacks. Accommodation and transport are not covered.

Call for Papers:

Domains of Interest: 

- Dialectology, Geolinguistics and Onomastics 
- Philology
- History of Romanian
- Lexicology, Lexicography, Phraseology
- Romance Linguistics
- Theoretical and Applied Linguistics
- Morphology and Syntax
- Pragmatics and Stylistics 

Each presentation should not exceed 20 minutes and will be followed by a 10-minute discussion. 

Conference languages: Romanian, French and English

Abstracts should be submitted to simpozion.lingv2013 at yahoo.com by June 20, 2013. Proposals will be assessed by the Scientific Committee. All applicants shall be notified of their acceptance by July 10, 2013. Please fill in the attached application form.

Additional information shall be provided in a second call for papers. Selected papers will be published at a prestigious publishing house.
