Meeting Description: 

The goal of this session is to bring together researchers embracing different theoretical and empirical approaches to argument structure to discuss the different types of linguistic evidence in relation to argument realization, argument alternation, (in)transitivity, event structure, and passive and middle constructions in Iranian languages.

Keynote Speaker: Gholamhosein Karimi-Doostan (University of Tehran) 

We are pleased to announce that the 1st Conference on the Semantics and Syntax of Iranian Languages will be held on April 29-30, 2014 in Tehran, Iran. The conference, to be hosted by the Faculty of Letters and Humanities at University of Tehran, aims to provide a platform for semantics and syntax researchers to exchange their ideas and new findings in theoretical and empirical studies on Iranian languages.

The Conference also celebrates 50 years of linguistics in Iran on 30 April 2014.
